Digital Signage

So there I was relaxing in my company’s foyer. I needed to sit down for a few minutes as an old knee injury was flaring up and bugging me this day. I noticed that the Foyer was very dull and missing something. So I set out on a mission to create a better atmosphere.

As I sat there thinking what does this room it dawned on me, Digital Signage. So I set out on my Mission. To find the best digital signage without breaking the wallet. I searched and searched and searched, and finally landed on my decision. A raspberry pi with a simple television and a free online interface.

So I hit the streets running. Found a Raspberry pi online for $50, This particular one included housing.

Once it came in I realized I forgot to purchase a micro SD flash drive with it. So I headed over to my favorite website.

Pulled this one up ordered it and away we went. A couple of days later we were in business, but then again where do we start.

Well, Next we needed an online service with free connectivity to the device. There are a few, Yodeck is a great service. It is easy to use and works wonderfully! It was simple to use. First I set up an account, it was simple. After I set up the account, I went through an interactive tour of their dashboard.

So I am ready to set up my raspberry pi to get my board going. I found these instructions on their site to set up my own Raspberry Pi. Now that my Player is all set up I am ready to create my content.

Boom a spectacular Powerpoint presentation later and I am set and ready to deploy.

I moved my player to the new wall-mounted tv I found on Amazon. Here are some links!

I finally had what I wanted. A great-looking Digital Signage that I could easily control. It was easy to set up and didn’t break the bank when I was finished. Now I can customize what is being displayed in my Foyer and I can keep my Clients up to date on important things going on!
